The Voices

By Jhai

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I've got a demon on my shoulder He's just a little guy. As heavy as a boulder About two inches high. He says he is my friend He likes to give advice. My business he attends With gruffy angry cries. I also have an angel So pretty and petite. So lightly does she dangle Her tiny little feet. Her voice is soft and sweet In whispers she would say "With God you can defeat for you the price he paid". Seldom do they agree On what is right for me. Often when they fight I cannot tell who's right. Life is full of choices It always has to be. I listen to the voices In the end it's up to me.
