Known Future

To dream things that become real I am not sure how I am to feel My last dream scared me the most I am sure it would turn anyone white as a ghost We were invaded by an unknown foe And with all of our power it took only one blow The roads are gone and so is our food And the only means of travel are the soles of our shoes People are hungry and very scared And the sad thing about it is that no one was prepared Our government said everything would be fine And that everything would fall in line Men dressed in grey-green clothes Shoot at us now as if we were their foes The shrieks of terror you hear in the night As we move on in our sad plight My parents are gone, I know not where I go to their house but they are not there I cry and shed many tears Not knowing what happened is one of my fears We hide in their broken house having to be quiet as a mouse Afraid of what might be coming Getting ready to do some running People who would normally be our friends Become our enemies in the end Food and water are priceless now One man will take it, he had vowed One shot fired, now two The man lay bleeding and dead at my shoes My husband is standing there wiping his face As we grab our kids and run out of that place We go to the beach to move up the coast There we meet some people who can help us, they boast The 'resistance', the grey-green men call The ones who are to help us all My dream starts to get fuzzy But Ido remember some humming Helicopers and me flying With bulletts shooting and my children crying My life was not meant to be this God get me out of this mess I am meant to be a wife and a mother Not someone who worries about helicoper rutters God let this just be a dream However real it may have seemed Let me have peace at night Even though I have second sight. This is from a specific recurring dream that I have had since childhood. Through my dreams, I have seen the future before and it has been correct. I wrote this poem MANY years ago when I was 13 years old. Considering what has happened,I needed to share Written September 13th, 2001 © on Sep 13 2001 04:00 AM PST   0 • 9
