The Path

By Just1meme

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Traveling the path to freedom Starting out in the right direction Walking aimlessly to a bright future Watching not what lied ahead Seeing not the darkness unfold Engulfing life in a blackened forest Being stuck by thorns and burrs Burying them deeper into the soul Thrashing through the brush to find the lost path Turning one way then the other Hoping to catch a glimpse of where to go Searching for that inner peace Breathing is roughened and ragged Running only to be pulled down into the thickness Hitting the bottom hard Hearing the past not far behind Moving quickly, ready to strike Catching of breath Gulping of air Pushing up to move forward Looking down, the path is again found Traveling will be easier now Keeping the goal in mind.
