Midnight Flame

By Kalisto

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Lost soul, Lost night; burning so strong, burning so bright. I awaken at the midnight hour- what controls my mind, the unquestioned power? Soul-less visions I attain in sight. Rid me of them, they give me fright! The Master comes, I feel the desire to burn my love of midnight fire. Ah, yes the footsteps they come so near. Inside I acquire an ungodly fear. It is the Master, my flame of sin. I must make haste not to allow him in! I know my hunger, runs deep to the core. The Master of night, his charms I adore! Passions so strange, sweet enchantments I find, yearn to obsess, control my mind. The hour has come. The Master is near. I feel his breath upon my ear. I cannot break away from my endless cries. For the words he speaks are dark, sweet lies. Evil intentions, the deepest of hell. Can I escape his unmerciful spell? He now appears to share his treasure in return for virtueless pleasure. His heart is cold, yet his eyes are aflame. I realize my desire may never ever change For I cannot break the spell of the Midnight Flame!
