Click and the screen goes blank.Home I am & God I thank. Through the door into the kitchen.Necktie too tight, wrangled, twitching.Cold water on my face and the smell of mint.Smile curling up along my face's squint.Empty house whir of the VCR taping.Wasting time with the dinner, I'm making.Thoughts drift with the steam rising. My eyes can see for what I am dying. Her long hair, her sweet taste. Her dark embrace, her sweaty face. The warm fold of her acceptance. The well formed hold of her glance. All of her is all I want of.All of all of it is not love. One moment’s chance. One circumstance.Light plays on skin. The subtle edges never begin. Her devilish way.Her dirty shade.Noon until morning.Endorphins soaring. Her like a drug.Sitting so smug.I want her style.I want her wile. You love to beguile.I have to smile.Screaming beeping stirs my thoughts.'Goddamned this shit is hot.'Boiling water scolds clean bare skin.Alone in my head is where I have been.Click and the burner goes black.Sighing as I rub my hand & lie back.Where did the courageous man go?Where is the young man I know? Here surely he isn't here in this cold body.Watching myself love her so boldly.
