Humanity
By ktzulu
A minute iota in an infinite cosmos We so foolishly believe in our superiority Basking in our own ludicrous ignorance Arrogantly we lay claim to the celestial skies While still skirmishing over tracts Of the earthly homeland Humanity is collapsing as society decays Power-mongers bark out commands to pawns While lounging in the pearl iridescence of ivory houses Insanity has run amok in the race for technical knowledge In an era of steel birds and titanium sharks, Only the innocent suffer With a martyr's blood seeping into your facial pores, Where do you hide from the truth? With political assassins elected to the throne, Who will you trust? Countries committing genocide while accusing others, Where do you live? And when all partake in the atrocious acts, Who will judge?
