Space Exploration
By LeBirk
Three of my friendsdived off high bridges, all in the same year, landing on frozen rocks;and one other, a sane man, went out of a hot air balloonand into a two-mile dive;I often pondered whetherthey were suicidesor maybe ultimate explorers;and then I read a bookabout a woman I knew, who had a damaged husband, who tossed her offa forty-story skyscraper, and she terrified of heights.I sometimes catch myselfstaring at full moons, unable to will myself to look away, tracking as far as I dare, and thinking how much betterit would be to fall upwardinstead of down, into the embrace ofthe cool white Moon.
