'A Soldier's Poem'
By lilrudyman
They struck us at dawn, While you were asleep. You paged the president, And told him we were already 6 feet deep. He granted us permission, To finally strike back. But by the time that was said, We fell further back. We kept on goin', Even though we didn't stand a chance. We had lots of help, Like from our peoples from France. We went into battle, With our heads half-way down. And we protected everything we had. From his head, to our crown. But we did not go down gentle, When it was our time to die. As we finally reached our grave, Our heads hung high! No, this poem is not about the terrorists acts. This is basically a poem that a soldier lives (in my opinion). But every soldier doesn't live through this poem, so don't be so fast to criticize me, please. Written October 25th, 2001 © on Oct 25 2001 10:55 AM PST 0 • 12
