A Child's Anguish
By Lisann
In The Eyes OF A Child I wrote a poem for you, I wrote it on my wrist.... I used a razor for my pen. I signed my name in blood. But you didn't see it. I wanted you to see it. You didn't ask me questions. Even when you saw my haunted eyes. You didn't ask because You were afraid of the answers. I wanted you to feel my pain. My feelings~ Are like the long string of attached scarves That magicians pull out of their mouths---- They seem to go on and on and on.... Each tear that is cried, Attaches to another. And then another. And the sadness Never seems to end. Anger pushes against the damn That holds it back With such force That it crushes me and my surroundings. Through my writing~ I discovered I have an intellect That is NOT stupid As you had said. But One that is unstretched, A heart that can feel more than pain.... And a body that once again Belongs to me. Written April 2nd, 2002 © on Apr 02 2002 02:35 PM PST 0 • 1
