In The Light

IN THE LIGHT I see the land before me So soft and moist with dew. The river and most beautiful trees, Have come into my view. Beyond the path I walk now--- A woman does appear, This vision of an angel To take away my fears. I take the path that leads me Walk in this place of light, I sit here and I ponder While the candle burns so bright. My heart it is so heavy My life is hard you see--- So much in life to deal with It takes its toll on me. I try with all that's in me To always do what's right But each day is a struggle But I try with all my might. So much of life around me That troubles my heart so It's hard for you to imagine This sadness that I know. How could you possibly help me What is it you can do? To ease my troubled spirit And open my heart for you. With purity of heart and soul Within this sacred place I heard your "special message" It filled me with such grace. I only needed one person TO show me a gentle love The spirit of an angel, Sent from up above. Joy that falls upon you When you reached out to touch my hand Reaching out with comfort You had a "special plan." The greatest gift you've given That I could really use Wisdom of my freedom That only I could choose. I cannot return this "gift" now For I found a friend in you, Your heart that shared a message, The heart inside me---grew. I gathered all my sorrows And left my heart with her She gave me all the courage To open my hearts door. Each step I take with wisdom A smile I find with peace Love that I've discovered now Let happiness increase. For those times that I felt burdened Each tear that I have cried Was caught within your heart of love The sadness in me has died.
