Doubt

By LitOnFire

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I don't think I ever doubted you once- not even when you would look away because you didn't like what you were hearing. Still, I never doubted you... when you told me how much you hated me, and you never wanted to see my face again. I went away... like you wanted. But still I never doubted the hours we would just talk and smile back at each other, as I sat there, amazed at how the way your mouth moved when you told me you were leaving. I suppose I did the right thing by letting you go. But still, I never doubted that you actually would. Written October 12th, 2001 © on Oct 12 2001 06:24 AM PST   0 • 8
