We will Prevail

By Lori A Berti

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Dear President & First lady ,our country is blessed; However the recent tragedies are what we detest. It was a clear and beautiful day. Then within minutes,we felt dismay.   Planes crashed and lives were lost; Realizing now what terrorism had cost. Our hearts broke ,tears filled our loving eyes; Stars and stripes displayed, for patriotism has no disguise.   You uplifted our spirits by Gods grace, We are standing proud by your embrace.   More terror occurs throughout our mail; Again you remind us WE WILL PREVAIL.  Troops leaving families to a mid eastern land; Tears fall like raindrops upon a foreign sand. We all take different roads;some walk and some may run; Knowing each road will eventually lead to one. You have been here for us during each devistation; UNITED TOGETHER makes us a strong ,yet caring nation..I lost my brother on 9-9-01  2 days before the 911 tragedy..I dedicate this poem to him  and everyone who is affected by the current problems ...GOD BLESS Written February 23rd, 2002 © on Feb 23 2002 12:09 AM PST, Lori Ann Berti    0 • 12 • 9
