She
She dances the night away, With her dancing in a lingerie; In blinding disco lights she move and sway; For the night's pay she hope and pray. She sleeps the night away, In a stranger's bed she blankly lay. Alone in the dark she silently say: I only did this for the pay. She passes the night away, In her daughter's cheeks she kiss and pray: My Lord Almighty make her well today, Please let her live another day. She bewails the night away, In her old shanty by the Bay. In her daughter's wake she has gone astray; In her void mind blank pictures play. She dances the night away, With her dancing in a lingerie; Atop the pedestal she moved and swayed, And her grieving soul flew away. Written November 20th, 2001 © on Nov 22 2001 03:39 PM PST 0 • 9
