A season of praise

By Marsha Goff

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

My soul praises you God, for your creation around me,     For the beauty and wonder of all that I see. . .     For the crisp air of autumn with leaves of red and gold,     For the marvel of each morning as it begins to unfold.     For majestic mountaintops in winter sprinkled with snow,     Towering o'er fertile valleys and lakes down below.     For gentle rainfall in spring-timeand vast oceans of blue,     For susets ablaze with a royal hue!     For flowers dancing in fields under a soft, flowing breeze,     For cool shade in summer 'neath giant oak trees.s     For a baby's first smile, for children's laughter at play,     For the power of your love and the strength for each day.     In this age ridden with turmoil and fear,     And worldwide strife growing more tense every year. . .     My sould knows that peace in this life can only be,     When my eyes turn toward  heaven and I offer praise back                                           to Thee!                                                                         ----Marsha Goff---- Written October 22nd, 2001 © on Oct 22 2001 01:14 PM PST   18 • 0 • 13
