The Butterflies
By Masamune
walking in the park i noticed the path a foot path not often trodden something over there called me to it and i beckoned you closer as i stopped and looked down the overgrown path you came asked if i thought we should follow it i nodded we went down the path in near silence not creepy silence and i had things i wanted to say but had no words for and then we came to a fork "that way" i pointed to the right there was a tree hanging low over it you went in first and then silently told me to be quiet i followed questioning it all then i understood hundreds of them butterflies it was an odd shaped clearing that my path lead us too a nearly perfect circle with only one way in thick trees all around i had never been here before we stood in the center and watched as they fluttered around us in silence but not the silence where neither of us had words just there was nothing to say i pondered that night what had led us there had you conjured up something as a sort of reverse present so i could think i found it and gave it to you or had i led us there with some subconscious force or was it pure chance i don't know and i odn't care anymore the memory of that beautiful sight will stay with me forever and i thank you for holding my hand during it it makes the memory warmerthis is a dramtization of acual events we did see a....swarm....of butterflies in the park they were beautiful Written February 18th, 2002 © on Feb 18 2002 12:12 PM PST 0 • 10
