Together Again

By mcl

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Come sit with me, love, By my side on the bed Take my hand the way you Used to when we walked. Don’t be sad that I’m leaving For my body is tortured, My mind is weary, and My heart only beats for our family. Time will take me away, I know, From the girls, they are so young But I will watch them from the silence And hope I have left enough of myself with you. Tell them I love them when they ask of me And how I used to comb their hair, And sing off-key lullabies, And tickle toes to get a laugh. Birthdays, holidays, weddings I’ll be there for them through you Love them and hold them and know I’ll be waiting ‘Til we’re all together again.
