The Loss of Innocence
By meganmb2004
A day written in history, And embedded in everyone's mind. Thousands of innocent people lost, And so was the innocence in the children's eyes. The children witnessed something horrible that day, On September 11, 2001. They say people in a panic, The twin towers were what they were fleeing from. Two hijacked planes crashed into these towers, And quickly they set aflame. Then they crumbled to the ground, The lives of Americans will never be the same. An attack on the United States, An attack on us all. They tried to divide America, But united we stood, never to fall. People rushing to the scene, To see how they could aid. Never giving up faith or hope, Some not resting for several days. Eight days later I sit here writing, Among one of the childrem with innocense lost. I pray to God to help the victims, And we are victims, all of us. I pray that he give strength to the heroes and families that have lost, To keep peace through all the following years. I pray that he keep our leaders wise, And help to relieve our fears.tell me what you think. :) Written September 19th, 2001 © on Sep 19 2001 10:06 AM PST 0 • 10
