\"State\"

“State” Morning came and gave me shock For in my dreams the life seemed sweet But simple sun rays can’t deplore From telling him our love’s no more My head it twisted into bed And grappled with the threat of day The oft-planned words I had to say Describing love that now had fled He in his chair and ambiance With claims of morning, news, and state Not letting in the truth I sent Not hearing what I had to say I clamored for his bartered ear Sung it from my broken soul He turned but couldn’t escape my song About a love that now had gone. © on Jul 03 2001 05:57 AM PST   0 • 8
