Joy of Winning

By Michael Dennis Rivers

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

It's not the laying of hands but the long, long wait before that makes the flesh feel so much better. The long walk home with her is what makes the good night kiss adored coming, as it does, when it does. The peach taste so much better after a painstaking peel of its tender skin. Women have the discipline, they can wait, Men can't and it is to their chagrin. For men the joy is in the long, long wait before the win.Great... another poem to hate!
