Petting

Petting It was the beginning of love, With a Catholic upbringing, No sex education, And a fear of the unknown. How I got such a nice girl or why she liked me, I’ll never know. I knew I loved her, I must have, all those long walks from the Girl’s Club Dances all the way to her house in the freezing cold.  I had an ulterior motive.  She was a pretty girl with budding breasts and long blond hair. We walked up the hill in the crisp dark, holding hands and lightly chatting.  She was a quiet girl.  When we reached her house, we reached the moment we were both waiting for, the good night kiss.  It was dark in front of her house, no street lights. a lonely street, few car went by.  We stood facing each other, holding hands.  I pulled her to me and our lips met in a little kiss.  A car passed; we parted.  Now we stood again Wrapped together drawing warmth from each other after the long walk. There was no talk,  we just looked at each other. I gave her a smile, She laughed nervously. I couldn’t believe she was holding me to her as closely as I held her.  We kissed again for a longer time.  I pressed her to me, At first with my butt pulled back so my little “stiff thing” wouldn’t touch her.    Eventually I rationalized, she had a thick coat that came between us so she probably wouldn’t mind me pressing.  No feeling her up.  I didn’t grope her in any way.  She was my girlfriend, not some slut.  She was my first girlfriend.  I manage to slip my hands inside her coat after a while.  I don’t remember how I opened her coat.  Maybe I just boldly unbuttoned it.  Now I was warmer and closer.   We squeezed each other and kissed and hugged and pressed against each other until eventually the evening culminated  in a little “Ohhh,” in sticky underwear, in a last goodnight kiss, in a long, cold walk home with dreamy eyes, in a goofy face and aching lover’s nuts. This was not written as a poem.
