Soft and Gray
To the memory of Ann D. Rivers Our mum is gone away She's down in Cape Cod Bay. We tossed her over the side with flowers and we cried. At peace now soft and gray, by waters carried away to every place on Earth, to Lebanon's origin birth, to Braintree in the rain, by sea way down to Maine, to Springfield by the river, to Orleans tides deliver. We honored her request, cremation was the best. She's with us every day at peace now soft and gray. This was the dedication in my first little self-published book of poems, "Hockanum Road."
