What do you see?....

By midniteblu

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

What do you see when you look at me? The woman who is struggling for independence? The girl who just wants to be accepted? The person who gets tired at the end of the day like everyone else? Or do you see with your narrow judgemental eyes the liitle hispanic trying to make a name for herself? I can be any one of those things. I can be better than all of those things. But... I don't have to be what you want. As long as you don't hold me down and tie me back, I can be whatever I want to be. Written December 10th, 2001 © on Dec 10 2001 05:33 AM PST   10 • 0 • 1
