Daddy Don't
She sits quietly while memories from the past begin to surface, She relives the horror and fear, As she remembers the threats of death in her ears. The feel of those hands around her throat. She fears not for herself, but for her babies. The worst memory is the terror in their eyes, Their little trembling bodies. Once again, she hears their plaintive cries, "Daddy stop!" "Don't hurt Mommy!" It's painful reliving those days. Her prayer is that as they grow up, They don't repeat their father's evil ways. She suddenly realizes tears are streaming down her face. This is from her troubled past, She is now in a different time and place. She knows now, that it wasn't her fault, She did nothing wrong. These haunting memories will remain. Never again will she hear, "Daddy stop!" "Don't hurt Mommy!" Written October 17th, 2001 © on Oct 17 2001 02:14 AM PST 0 • 1
