My Eyes Don't Lie
By mlamont
She thinks in silence, As her world falls apart around her. She is trapped in my mindless game. I wonder if she will ever come around My heart is in her hands ever so bleeding She looks at me with her stoic eyes, Saying everything, but nothing at all. She dreams in colors, She dreams for me But what is it That I can't see? Everything has gone to far Everything is closing in She tries to pull me Deep within. With all she knows and all she has, She picks her things up and steps on the gas I watch her leave with my stoic eyes and I can't believe I'm living these lies. My heart in her hand Her weight on my shoulders What was once would shine has turned to sand As I turn away from all of my troubles She enters my mind and I am humbled With tearful bliss I remember that day we shared one last kiss The day my stoic eyes went away.
