The Beaten Path
By mlamont
Once again, I am down this path No one seems right, not this one Nor the last. Where will she be? When will I find her? I'm so tired of searching. I thought I had found her, In her blue eyes and captivating touch. But like all the others, she is a memory. What is it that I've done wrong? I know I deserve better then this. All this weary heart needs is a little sqeeze, or a little hug. My heart is on my sleeve, but i've heard there's nothing wrong with that. Then why am I here alone, dreaming, and wishing. The new one is so wonderful with her captivating eyes and her cute laugh, and even the way her hair so urgently falls across her face, waiting for me to push it back. But will she be a memory? Will she lead me down this beaten path? As of now, my heart tells me no. But when I stand corrected, my head will tell me so. Written February 20th, 2002 © on Feb 19 2002 04:39 PM PST 18 • 0 • 1
