The Same
By mlamont
Remember the times when we were all so blind The future was so uncertain We left what we knew had nothing to prove walking into a bold new world Four years have passed Your future like glass So fragile, but very clear. You've got your own place and soon you will face all the things you put aside. Before you could tell In love you had fell And nothing would be the same. And nothing compares to that one day you swear When your child came into this world And now that their gone to start what you long had forgotten. You start to realize your days are at end and you've lost, your best friend. And with all of your hope you look at the light and suddenly you fade away. You look back at your life and with so much strife, realize it went all to fast. But thats just how it goes With friends and with foes, you all face the same direction. But before i am done i'll look back to the sun and kiss all my worries behind. I'll know all that I did and where I have been. before I fade away. I'll put grudges behind and peace I will find. My heart will never lay to rest. And though I'm gone They will sing this song in hope that they will be the same. Written February 20th, 2002 © on Feb 19 2002 04:52 PM PST 20 • 0 • 12
