I seek the mts
By mtpoet
I seek the mts I come from mts where the peaks crest above creeks, muddy after rain, clearing on limestone, pooling near Lake Cumberland before rushing over Hay Creek falls. I seek within the mts a poetry unwritten for mts come closer now bringing with them the sound of poetry I would shape into my own. I seek the word upon the mts for the word is there silent & my voice climbs ever up & across the ridges. Once on Jack's Knob there was the feel of an intimate wind like the gushing of breath against my ear. It came over the top of Jack's Knob in darkness fleeing the echo of a black and tan hound that struck hot its scent but lost it quickly in the waters that flow thru Upchurch hollow.
