A Dance For One

By NanaBear

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Some practice being kind.  It's more important than who's 'right'.The 'higher self' wants only peace - while egos want to fight. Those who 'push your buttons' are your soul-mates and best friends. They teach you what you need to change, so learning never ends.'What can I get?'  'What's here for me?'  must change to, 'May I serve?'If we would tap the 'higher plane', and our best self preserve.Let go of 'things'.  They don't contain your value or your worth. They only have the power that you give them here on earth.Addictions for the things we want and don't need, (yet seek more,)Are overcome the moment we are ready... at our core. All that is lost can yet be found, but we cannot attractOur hopes and dreams, intense desires, lamenting what we lack. What you may 'wish' for and 'desire', or may 'intend' to doWill, without love and passion, remain 'dead' and not come true. Most follow others all their lives, the 'dance' they have been shownBy those who cast their seeds before, and reap what they have sown.Yet this is something we can change, if we will follow throughAnd start a new dance of our own... though 'partners' be but few.We can let go the dance of old, though we've made it our own,But there's one step which everyone must, one day, take alone!
