Classical Conflict

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I stand on the fence, can't fall off the damned thing. My laughter and tears, like electricity out of phase, the power is there, cancelling itself out, one driving emotion almost wins for a moment, then the other engulfs it again. Laugh or cry for sanitys sake. Sinking all my energy, into this mindless race. Can't I just feel it and go home? Can't I just leave it alone? Perhaps it's just time for another break, The air involuntarily and violently leaving me, in guffaws, as the saline traces away all the pain. Left in solitudinous wonder, proud I was big enough, to let me go insane. Let loose for a moment, of the reigns, that teathers the skin of my face, into composure. Exposure...closure.
