Americas Angels
By Noelani
I can still taste the fear Feel my heart aching with sorrow and pain As I watch with growing pride, as my angels near Chaos is in the air, but here is where they remain Holding my hand, wiping away a tear. Thousands of screams fill the air I can hear loud thumps hitting the ground This is more than I can bare My head spins, making a steady pound Until the angels radiate their love and tender care. That day, emblazoned in my mind Sensations I've never known before A fear I never thought I'd find Until I saw this day of horror And I wonder, how we came to be so blind. A precious angel then led me into the light Giving me new hopes and new dreams Angel, don't leave me behind, I can help you fight And suddenly, the world isn't as tough as it seems Because with you close by, everything is right. When you held my hand, as I cried I knew I would never forget you While you kept me safe, so I didn't have to hide You said we'd be alright, this you knew 'Cause you'd always be at my side.I dedicate this to all the firefighters who gave and risked their lives to save many others in the 9*11 tragedy. P.S. In case you didn't realize, the angels are the fire fighters. Written March 13th, 2002 © on Mar 13 2002 12:09 PM PST 18 • 0 • 9
