Awaken to The Sound of Waves (Challenge Poem)

I awake to the soft sounds of waves They hiss so softly as they roll in I picture each one I hear As they kiss this sandy beach As my senses return from slumbers repose I feel you gently stir Moving so softly in my arms Your head upon my chest Feeling your breath on my skin I kiss your hair and whisper your name Thanking you for your love From where I lay on the pillow Holding my love so tight I see the tip of the sun Escaping darkness's clutch It edges over the rim of the world The start of a new day for us But in this moment I see us A life with you my love How each day is to be fresh and new As it rises higher I see its light sparkle on the waves Each one tipped with a diamond They glitter and dance toward shore Each one oh so bright But dull when compared to your smile And then the sun clears the rim It takes its place in the sky Banishing darkness, lighting our day Just as you bring light to my life And take my darkness away Then looking down at you I see you looking up at me Without a word I see your eyes Telling me you love me so With the sweetest smile you pull my lips to yours And we share our loves caress And as you hold me I look at the sun A tear flows from my eye Thinking of how Much I love you You my precious true love Written April 12th, 2002 © on Apr 12 2002 02:02 PM PST, John   0 • 8
