The day my life changed forever (Challenge poem)
By nyjohn00
It was a day God it is so clear The doctors had their suspicions Symptoms I have had Test and probing Then waiting for the word I called the doctor could not wait He didn't want to tell He wanted me to come to him To hear the results face to face I made him tell, could not wait I can still hear his word so clear "You have cancer, we must meet" These words changed my life for good Never again to take tomorrow for granted Each breath became so precious I have known you for so short of time But you became my life I saw in you, all my dreams So much of my life was wasted These last few months I want to spend Doing a lifetime of things All the things a couple would do A lifetime in a few months I'd want these memories to hold and keep To take them with me to heaven To hold them there and wait for you My one and only love Written March 10th, 2002 © on Mar 09 2002 04:08 PM PST, John 0 • 8
