Watching the snow fall
By nyjohn00
Watching the snow fall Slowly drifting past Like the second hand on the clock Moving on its relentless path Today the sun refuses to shine Shrouded in winters clouds An icy wind comes blowing in Chilling me to the bone I feel the cold of winters death Reminding me how brief life is How we only have a little time A tear slowly trails down my cheek Falling silently down It is joined by its brothers Just like the snow drifting past It seems to last forever It grows in intensity And slackens in the spring Just as my tears end when ever you are near So I gaze out at the snow and think One more day gone forever One less day of being with you Written January 17th, 2002 © on Jan 17 2002 12:36 PM PST, John 0 • 8
