pomegranates

By ozfactor

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

a bright light peeks from around the golden shadow cast my words and deeds undone is she, still and only beholden to dark nights washed in fear. can you run? hot breath shatters hope upon a crumpled mattress, stench of sweat with passionate hate that fumbles and stumbles with a drunkenness only she and he can know. crushed pomegranates bleed red upon the sheets and stains their skins the colored eyes of a furious god that weeps until daybreak. eyes wide open only to become blinded; plunging stainless steel forceps, lonely, cold tears fall slowly to the tiled floor.
