Bodies Before Consciousness
By PaigeLeeds
I wake to you mumbling my name Through soft kisses on the nape of my neck Its morning, a gentle ritual begins Of sun filt’ring through window shades- Of your careful love saying, my name. I feel your love deeply, moments before I wake. As my mind climbs to consciousness, Your hands reach for my chest -I roll over, pull you closer, but I’m not aware of this. There’s subtle conversation Between bodies before minds wake, singing, haleluah! In divine duets amongst twisted sheets. In this dreamland, where we reside, Deep sighs, slow movements, Legs intertwine In a dialogue of still exploring, Each bodily possibility, My arms reach around you. Your kisses roam my head. Fingers wander aimlessly towards Simple joy in bed. You’re conscious now, I’m not fully As you turn me over, My mind recognizes feelings Of your lips, suckling mine. They’re sweet, (even this early) Which I lick and kiss in kind. My eyes open, staring Into big grey eyes, -startling. As you smile and say, “Good Morning.” Written December 21st, 2001 © on Dec 21 2001 03:40 AM PST 18 • 0 • 8
