Embracing Mist
By Pat G
What draws a mist to settle for the night in molecules that speak of time displaced: - a scarce forgotten memory of flight? - the last remembered countenance of grace? While pondering such mist I feel the thread that day and toil still dangle out of reach. (In splintered coughs of work for daily bread I never give a breath to richer speech.) Within the granite grind of needy chores my mind retreats to haven safe my soul; with mist filled eyes I ever seek the lure and mystery of every thing that's whole *So leave me sit enriched in mist or rain to never feel the weight of day's disdain.* * from Samuel Daniel's lines "Still let me sleep, embracing clouds in vain and never wake to feel the day's disdain."
