A Prison Called Life
By pl rage
I am but a shadow A ghost in this prison This frail mortal shell My immortal self Trapped in a ruin Frail as it seems I cannot break free If you closely look You may see my presence Behind the green windows Sometimes I will look out Trying to get some attention Most will just pass me by Not seeing, nor caring Some call it a beautiful temple Still it’s just an ugly prison to me Built to be my vessel in life A cold cell holding my crippled spirit My thoughts wander almost freely Drifting in and out of consciousness Biding for the time of release Written September 13th, 2001 © on Sep 13 2001 03:42 AM PST 0 • 1
