Essence of a Black Woman
By poetri
Essence of a Black Woman I am a black woman loud and proud I stand Brown skin, fair skin, and dark skin are the shades of my lovely face Big brown eyes, full beautiful lips, and soft round breast All of which are gifts my African mother gave to me Mysterious and complicated That's what people say Hard to understand Some feel that way I just don't know what to say about black women today I'm not complicated or hard to understand They try so hard to unriddle my mystery But they can't seem to figure it out It's not a mystery about a black woman It's the ESSENCE OF A QUEEN Written September 7th, 2001 © on Apr 18 2002 03:38 AM PST 10 • 0
