Why sad, my Love, give me a kiss ... ** I need no kisses to be happy Refusing a kiss? What does that mean? I thought all women need kiss and candy to be happy ** No ... I need roses and reason perhaps poetry ... If love is the reason roses pale into to a bloody bribe what good is love, if love is bribed by bloodied rose to do so? (Pour me wine and pleasant music; build me a small fire and beside bring me the body of my beloved) For if the way of love is bribe by reason, then my desire is good reason for you to love lay your heart beside ... ** I want to walk on yonder hills On connubial softly clouded paths I want to seek Soul's poetry Written by angels, not by beastial skills Let's seek then purity in poetry! My beautiful lady gets her way: poetry offers on a plate ... But it has to come from the spring of spontaneity and not from yesterday’s emotions ... Let wine be aged; let bread be fresh - start now ... promise: no cheating. Put away all the books of poems around you close those poetry sites ... when you have done that let me know ** Aaaah, listen: who is master and who is slave? I’ve done as you requested, Sire - What shall I write, and dream about, dear Beast? Shall I say what lies heavily on my mind or unchain my heart … unburden breast ... set free the birds of love to rest upon your chest? Great first line: great! I will follow now ** Before you do, accept this gift of fragrance ... yes, this magic gift of romance and of secrecy Oh Lady That is not a line - that is a rose: you’ve cheated... That is not a line; it is a woe a frightening delightful place to go ... ** ... Once there was a man who dreamt he was a prince but he was nothing more than a poor beggar and he upon journeying to a foreign land found the woman of his dreams though in a dream he travelled so and found her ... ** My dearest Beast ... listen ... He laid upon the grass - this man who would be king and gazed up at the azure skies ... Yes Love? ** ... Poetry drips from your fingertips What calls it forth? ...only because you bring the love from me ...only because you call it forth ** This is a wonderous poem; it must be read aloud: with action and with music and with lights What am I going to do with all your words? I may not paste it under your own name nor under mine, because it is ours ... My words are for you... ** But what am I going to do with all these thoughts? I am going to write a poem ... (For me or for the world?) ** with all these words (is it original, or is it flawed) a poem for you ... Is it mine? ** Yes …yours and also mine, to display before all eyes please give me a line ... Do you need a starting line, my love ** No: that I have ... What kind of line must I give you ? ** Write me a haiku ... Ok: i'll give you a haiku: the sound of autumn just like the fitful lovers cicadas screaming ** Beautiful! ...oh to make beauty out of the thing hated like God made light out of infernal darkness … why do crickets chirp? because they are hungry for love or char'table crumbs I'm busy she says but bees ignore the acacia until it opens (Oh I hate haiku but my love makes me write them one does what love wants a beast of burden carries the world on his back always with a smile) ** Oh Sadness is where all the beauty of Poetry originates ... Birds, cicades, crickets, monkeys ... all cry and some make the most melodious noise I don't write from sadness - I have that in the past ...so now I write from the next best thing: longing **No wait! This is enough for one day, Beast ... Your Majesty did well; true royal touch! Go now and cool your heated blood: I set you free ... from Poetry **(And when the sun at last touches them with tender fingers it is the knowledge that she made him king that lingers ...)*wink* Written April 8th, 2002 © on Apr 08 2002 06:02 AM PST, Myra Lochner    10 • 0 • 8
