Watching the Dance

By Professor Gloom

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

You move so slow, so sensual, dancing, You catch our eyes our dreaming hearts racing, The beat, your beat, dance and music combine, Sound and movement now gracefully entwine. Spirit of song take my sad dreaming away. My feet won’t move to beats of drums and song, I’ve sat without movement for much too long, I’ll watch you sway in dance spirit divine Perhaps to take your hand with in the mind. Spirit of dance take my sad dreaming away. Sound and movement end with the still of song, I fade to blackness back where I belong, With memories of dance round campfire, Passions to which I can not aspire.
