The Old Man Wants To Die

By ran66man

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

He tells me stories about way back when He used to tell me about when he's young Now he's too weak to even lift his hand so let him die because he's made his stand In the will says let him go when he fails don't keep him alive Just put me to rest, he pleas He'll be at his best, he knows because old man wants to die just to die on his own, unknown not to be with the blame, no shame the old man wants to die He gave me hope about my upcoming future He held me close when I was in fear Now he can't hold my hand, even look at me and know so let him go, forever to be free could have been me, so let him be the old man wants to die Written March 17th, 1991 © on Nov 02 2001 10:48 AM PST   10 • 0 • 9
