Half of What I Say…

By Renokhan

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Four children did I see I cried for all but three And that one cried for me She stood up strong With dark boots on And said she didn’t need me “No quarter asked! And your tears won’t last To end the sorrow in me” With that I retreat And begin then to speak Without a thought brought free “I dream of a world Where skin is like steel No one could feel what I see” But to this I cry Harder than thy Could have cried for me With your house on your heels You leave for the hills And I dream that you’ll turn to me Kiss me goodbye With that stop my cries And away in the clouds I’d flee.
