Used By Permission Only I turn on the TV Only to see third world children dyin' They don't have a drop of food to eat It breaks my heart and I start cryin' Then suddenly I realise that life can be unfair But does anyone even care? I turn the channel only to hear dozens are dead Some emotional teen brought a gun to school And shot them all in the head What's this world coming to? Where did we go wrong? I keep hearing if you believe in love You'll have the courage to carry on Was this really what God intended for us When he created mankind? Or would he say "I'm disappointed in you" Tell me what's this world coming to? No matter where you go You can't escape the tragic news Two men were beaten badly Only because they were Jews What about the boy that was tied to a fence Back in the day, because he was gay When we realise that black, white or blue We're all the same in God's eyes And that's the honest TRUTH! What's this world coming to? Where did we go wrong? I keep hearing if you believe in love You'll have the courage to carry on Was this really what God intended for us When he created mankind? Days like September eleventh Are a constant wake up call It taught that no matter how invincible we think we are In a matter seconds we can fall What's this world coming to? Where did we go wrong?
