Silver

By Seymour

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Staring down the road It's been the same for miles. Four dark men stare back at me Sharp and twisted smiles. Pound the glass that's fogged Scream until you're coarse. Pale and drained of blood And now, with driving force Suddenly as petals Wither, flake, and die The laughing men that stared at us Fall to their knees and cry Fade to black and flicker Vertical control Unhinge the silver reel Rewind and let er' rollOh dear. This is awful, isn't it. Dear, dear, dear. I hate that word. Written December 9th, 2001 © on Dec 08 2001 04:08 PM PST   0 • 10
