Calgon Take Me Away!

By Sharon

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Wedded bliss should be like this - candlelight and flowers. Not laundry and dusting and vacuuming for hours. Passion left when we, took that final vow. Pots and pans and scouring pads, are what talk about now. At the end of every day we smile across the room, you there with your dusting cloth me here with my broom. Too tired to be more than friends exhaustion holds us at bay The only romantic words I want are  “Calgon, take me away!” Written December 27th, 2001 © on Dec 27 2001 02:18 PM PST   0 • 14
