Within This Tender Flame
By Sharon
Who seeks the dying ember Within this tender flame Who builds the warmth with gentle care? And calls this lover’s name? You cannot chide the blaze As it dies for want of air So bank your fire faithfully And tend it with great care Though sunny days may warm you It’s the night than can be bleak But if you keep the fires kindled No other flame need you seek Written December 23rd, 2001 © on Dec 23 2001 02:41 PM PST 0 • 8
