One Child's Dream
By shedevilrkg
If she goes for her friend, the dark cold knife And leaves in the dust this world of pain Would she regret this thing now lost; her life That could not be taken back or re-gained? So is this a good goal for which to strife? To go against her mind where it's ingrained? It's true that all her life was based on lies And she can't leave her dark pain in the dust And tears keep flowing as the young girl cries The swirling tempest makes her soul now rust If she could live on she would choose to fly But then again, she would die if she must So hoping that she could dream once again She wonders how long she'd possibly last Without the knife, her one and only friend Perhaps this life of hers would move by fast So she thinks once again of the cold end Looks to the bright moon and dreams of her past And thinks back to times where there were no fears When she could dream like a child at night And her lone pillow had tasted no tears To a time when her parents did not fight And puts back her friend from over the years Hoping that her dreams will again take flight Written November 18th, 2001 © on Nov 18 2001 02:30 PM PST 0 • 10
