The Dream That Could Be
By sheepboy7101
I awoke from my sleep, a few night ago, to the sound of knocking on my bedroom door. Climbing from bed, with an unusual haste, I took a step forward, and entered that place In shined the light, as the door glided open, revealing the face, that stood there before me rubbing my eyes full of great disbelief, standing before me was my girls sweet face. Reaching forward with a tear in my eye, I wrapped my arms in yours and held on tight, vowing not to let go or say good-bye, cherishing this moment for all eternity Under the heavenly lights we walked Dreaming of what the future would bring More happiness? More joy? How could it be? For this is the greatest moment of my life. Stopping to rest, under an oak tree, We gazed at the moon, in all of our awe. I snuggled up close, to keep out the cold, and drifted to sleep, with you by my side. When I awoke, from my peaceful sleep, I reached to my side, to hold my sweetheart but instead I found sheets, and opened my eyes Only to find it was all just a dream Written November 13th, 2001 © on Nov 13 2001 01:14 PM PST 0 • 1
