OUR FLAG IS UNFURLED
OUR FLAG IS UNFURLED The music sounds with all sorrow, our joys are flown down. Ashes drift towards the sky, uplifted with-out sound. Horror mounts with odors keen, souls move towards the sun. What light is there to guide us through darkness now begun? Hearts bleed with no recourse at the bitter arrows hurled. Yet, our hour grows near and just as our flag is unfurled. Wants lead towards death and truth, no lies can be upheld. What answers guilty heart, a massacre so compelled? Tears fall countless in endless streams, eyes drawn down from care. Spirits drift with-out aim, direction lost in dispair. Hatred aimed wings of fire through skies where clouds do swirl. Cries of anguish create wind causing flags to unfurl. Heroes come from hearts proud, self lost in moments need. In an hour with-out hope, hope now plants its seed Hearts torn then filled with wonder at such selfless glory. Books will bloom on paper gold, in honor of their story. Just arms will reach into dark realms, searching Eastern Worlds. Seeking harm to those that harm, as our flag now unfurls.
