Hubris

By Silver Dragon with Onyx

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Do birds not sing?  Do flowers not bloom?  When you did everything  You ensured your own doom    Don't try to run  Don't try to hide  Ignore it and have fun  Your last day on this side    You thought it was right  You thought it would aid  But you got in a fight  And you started to fade    Don't disobey  It will make it more difficult for you  Just do not stray  Or your chance of happiness is through    There is no sin  For we all make mistakes  Except for one you can never win  One deed of hubris is all it takes    It's one thing not stood for  You simply can not practice  Need I say more?    How about eternity pushed into a cactus?    So heed my warning  Mortals of blood  Mistakes are made night to morning  But do not provoke the sleeping bud Written April 8th, 2002 © on Apr 08 2002 04:13 PM PST   18 • 0 • 13
